PERSUASIVE ENGLISH (for marketing, sales and purchasing)

(If there are sufficient students from any one area the course can be directed even more specifically to that area)
ADVISED LENGTH OF EACH COURSE: General Course of 12 lessons of 3 hours, one lesson per week (Total 36 hours) + availability of an advice service during course by ‘phone and email.
Home study should be considered as an integral part of the course and take on average 3-4 hours per week.

The medium for learning will be Lexical interactive…that means learning and using chunks of language, not simply individual pieces of vocabulary or grammar (original material from participants is a necessary part of this course!)
Participants will (under supervision):
Discuss current matters pertaining to their fields (using the appropriate language)
Take part in meetings and learn the appropriate language to assist them to:
Persuade
Sound convincing
Sound enthusiastic
Sound positive
Describe products and services
Devise, take part in and run case studies and role-plays
Study the techniques and specific language to ‘win friends and influence people’!
Work in groups to plan and present business topics and events
Write out proposals and alterations…generally enhance your correspondence skills(formal letters and memos) with respect to negotiations.
