'Get the confidence to use the Language!'

Testimonials

• I was taught a great deal during the  inspiring lessons. My compliments to Nigel Clements.

• I have had the privilege to have been able to polish up my English with Nigel Clements. The privilege comes from the fact that Nigel delivers a bespoke course really focussed on the person.
Regarding groups, the level is tested in a most thorough manner, he involves himself in your field of work and makes a clear proposal.

The lessons are extremely lively, intensive and full of variety. Nigel really gets to the bottom of the realities of the situation of the organisation and directs his lessons and lesson materials towards this.

Above all he is a professional who gives the student confidence. Everyone feels at ease with him. He is able to create the ideal atmosphere to make you competent.
A large number of staff from my organisation have made use of his services.
The results have been outstanding and that for a price that is exceedingly reasonable.

• A course with Nigel Clements is very much to be recommended if you wish to improve your knowledge of English. Especially if you are yourself prepared to invest time in the sometimes difficult and large amount of self-study required you will soon notice a steep rise in performance.

The lessons are given in a relaxed manner full of variety and therefore never boring. By virtue of Nigel’s wide range of interests it is always possible to hold an interesting conversation and this is a pleasant way of improving conversational skills. It often happens that during such a conversation that you forget  you are in an English lesson.

It is a great advantage that Nigel is a Native-Speaker but also can speak good Dutch. Sometimes it is useful to be able to make certain points clear in one’s own language.

• The Netherlands Second Chamber of Parliament

Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal

The Hague, 4 February 2009

For several years we have been making use of the services of Mr Nigel Clements in order to maintain and improve the level of our English.
Mr Clements has many years experience in a variety of fields, both in the public and private sectors. This experience is evidenced in his approach to his lessons.

Trustworthiness and the bespoke nature of his courses are our most important reasons to continually do business with him.
With regard to tailor-made courses it is of necessity in our work that Mr Clements is able to react to actual events during his lessons. Mr Clements is proactive and has deep understanding of political and social themes.
Due to the fact that we need to talk about actual events the tailor made nature of our courses mean that highly confidential topics often need to be discussed. Mr Clements is, in this, a most pleasant and trustworthy partner to work with.

Parliamentary work is often irregular and difficult to plan. Because of this appointments are frequently and unavoidably changed at the last minute. Nigel is most understanding and flexible in these situations and this makes our co-operation even more complete.

The quality-price relationship of the courses is very good.

We trust we will be able to continue to use his services for many years to come.

English lessons given by Nigel Clements

1.  Lesson content:
a.    The lessons are very varied, the newest books that provide a variety of  practical activities are always used.
b.    A great deal of attention is paid to spoken English whether it be prepared ( homework) or ad hoc. The situations vary, pairs, small groups                     presentations and the topics also vary, hobbies to work themes.
c.    Great attention is also paid to grammar but always interwoven into another topic so it is less boring.
d.    Actual events have their place too and with the use of recent news articles actual events are talked about.

2. The core of the lessons:
a.     English is spoken throughout the lesson. Mr Clements is sufficiently master of Dutch (and his other languages) that he explain any otherwise             insurmountable problems in Dutch.
b.    The lessons are full of variety. As a result of his thorough Intake test and interviews the teacher makes a tailor made programme to match the specific needs of the group.
c.    Mr Clements has the capacity to provide education in a challenging way at all levels, from beginner to advanced.

3.     Financial: At the outset of our course negotiations I compared MR Clements’ prices with other providers. The result was that what was offered by Mr Clements could be described as relatively cheap. There was a very good value for money ratio.

What I personally found useful were the vocabulary exercises built into the course: the Collocations that were immediately put into use and made a good contribution to self confidence and real-time use of English

• In 2006 and 2007 I followed group courses given by Nigel Clements, which were given by him on the instructions of the Foreign Ministry. I have also enjoyed private lessons from him. This was in connexion with my posting abroad.

I found both the group and individual lessons given by Mr Clements extremely professional.
Nigel Clements is serious, expert, trustworthy, can be strict, but with a touch of humour, provides a high quality lesson and knows how to create a good atmosphere. He also constantly creates variety, whereby lessons are never boring or monotonous.

He is flexible in the organisation of courses and ensures that everybody got got a fair share.
Concerning the learning aims, pricipally concerned with everybody’s work, he provided good oportunities for practice. In my case, for example, participation in international meetings and bi-lateral conversations at my office were vital.

He is a true teacher who really knows how to pass on information on the English language. Not an easy task certainly with English that has a relatively limited but complicated grammar. Nigel is a real ‘professor’ who is really knows how to motivate his students.

Through the lessons that  received from him my level of English has grown considerably, from which now I profit in my daily work.
